ABOUT ME

Raised on a dairy farm in central Minnesota with 8 siblings. I hold strong traditional family values and a belief that knowledge is our most important attribute and that our schools should be an environment in which children are eager to learn.
 
My enthusiasm for knowledge led me to several post high school educational programs, beginning with an Auto Body Repair Certification, which I used in starting a small business.   With a continued curiosity in electronics, I found myself back in school and graduated with a Degree in Robotics & Automation Technology and have spent the past 34 years learning something new every day.
 
I’ve been married to my wife for 37 years, we moved into the Isanti area 29 years ago and raised two sons in the Cambridge-Isanti school district.  My wife and I enjoy volunteering within our local community and I have served on the Board of a local non-profit organization for more than 10 years.

For the past 30 years I have been working in the Energy Sector for the world’s largest supplier of Nuclear Power Plants, giving me an opportunity to meet many diverse people and experience different cultures around the world.  I started my career as a technician and through continued learning, hard work, dedication and leadership I have achieved the level of Director.  
 
Though-out my career I have been challenged to solve difficult problems, make hard decisions and learn from mistakes. I believe that awareness is the first step to improving, and will bring a philosophy of continues improvement/learning, with leadership experience, and will make tough decisions to improving our educational programs and our children’s educational experience.  Focused on improving academics, ensuring every student is given the best opportunity to achieve their goals, and that parents continue to have a voice in their children’s education/goals.
